Reclaimed woods are versatile, offering infinite possibilities to architects, designers and fine woodworkers. The following outlines our basic surface options.

“As-Is” – directly out of inventory, with no additional millwork done to it unless otherwise requested.

Surface Cleaned – Material is de-nailed to remove all surface metal.

Complete De-nailing – Material is thoroughly de-nailed, above and below the surface with metal detectors.

s1s (Surfaced 1 Side) – The wood is planed smooth on one side. Surfaced on the best face, unless specified             otherwise.  Actual dimensions will be ¼” less for each edge that is surfaced.

s2s (Surfaced 2 Sides) – The wood is planed smooth on two sides.Surfacing occurs on the broadest, best face, unless specified otherwise.  Actual dimensions will be ¼” less for each edge that is surfaced

s3s (Surfaced 3 Sides) – The wood is planed smooth on three sides. Surfaced on the best face, as well as on the edges. Actual dimensions will be ¼” less for each edge that is surfaced

s4s (Surfaced 4 Sides) – The wood is planed smooth on four sides. Surfacing occurs on the broadest, best face, as well as on the edges. Actual dimensions will be ¼” less for each edge that is surfaced

Kiln Drying – Kiln drying is highly recommended for all wood products. Potential defects without kiln-drying include cupping and end checking.
